calender falls the day on which Lord Ram, one of most important
deities in the Hindu belief is said to have been born. The
festival of Ramnavami is celebrated on this day. The followers
of Ram keep a fast which they believe will cleanse them
of all sins. There is a big do in temples across the country
to celebrate the dayi.
