Ke Tohra Sang Jai - Manna Lal Yadav - Just like all other Nirgun songs - this one too talks of the inevitability of death. It is addressed to the parrot - which is often used as a metaphor for the soul. It describes the sorrow that accompanies death and the futility of that sorrow in a sense. Aalha Udal - Balla Ram Singh - Aalha and Udal were two warrior brothers whose tales of valour are sung all over the North in a very dramatic manner. Moriya Aachcha Moliyo Re - Virah - Mohammad Ayub - This is a song of separation. The cry of the peacock makes the protagonist long for her lover who is in a distant land. She is asking the peacock not to cry out for it pierces her heart like a double edged sword. Janata Party - Geet - Jawahar Lal Yadav - Jawahar Lal belongs to the Yadav community which supported the Janata party strongly when it came to power in 1977, defeating the Congress for the first time in Independent India. This song was written at that time - celebrating the victory of the Janata party.

Ram Bhaila Jogiya - Khadi Biraha - Manna Lal Yadav - Called a Khadi Biraha, these are short songs that are sung without any musical accompaniment and Manna Lal Yadav brings great emotion to the rendering of this one. Bhara Ho Bhara Ho - Geet - Mohan Lal Kanskar - Possibly this song seeks to make a comment on some of the ills of modern society and rues about the fact that hardly any attention is paid to villages in today's times. Pahad Ki Gaadi Mein - Geet - Radha - A simple song, it brings out the memory of the homeland that exists in the hearts of those who have to live far away. Gadi Chaleli Chaleli - Chhapeli - Anandi Devi & Santram - The precise meaning of this song is not clear and the stanzas have most likely been added over time by the singer. Towards the end of the song the singer gives his own introduction and his complete address. This is a common practice followed in many folk songs. Mili Juli Gaave - Manoj Tiwari 'Mridul' - A typical Sohar, sung to celebrate the birth of a child, this song describes the jubilation in the house of Baba Nand at the birth of Lord Krishna.

Baba Nimiya Ke - Nirvahi - Urmila Srivastava - Using the neem tree as a metaphor for the home of the father where little birds live - the song prepares the girl for marriage.
