Heera Singh Borliya studied music when he was a young man and got a job in the education department as a music teacher. He then started singing for small neighbourbood folk oriented programs and gained immense experience, popularity and fame as the years went by. Along with 5 other artistes, he travelled to many cities of France in 1982 presenting the Bhakti music of the Ujjain area. Not only does he himself regularly perform for All India Radio, Doordarshan and private programs, he is an organizer and teacher par excellence and has trained and inspired many other groups. He has received the title of "Malwa Ratna" in 1992.
